THE RELATIVES OF THE CHILDREN OF BULLENHUSER DAMM

Family De Simone

Sergio’s mother Gizella de Simone found out about the crimes at Bullenhuser Damm in 1983, and took part in the remembrance ceremony in Hamburg on 20 April 1984. But she did not want to believe that Sergio was dead and kept on hoping until her death in 1988 that he was still alive. Her son Mario, who was born after the war, his wife Clotilde and their son Edoardo come regularly to the memorial on 20 April, as well as his cousins Andra and Tatiana Bucci.
