About us
Our association was founded in 1979 when the relatives of those murdered at Bullenhuser Damm gathered for the first time. Some traveled from far and wide, and they wanted to do more than just mourn and remember; they wanted to take action!
The relatives joined forces with dedicated Hamburg residents to:
- Preserve the memorial at the site of the crime
- Stay connected with one another and meet regularly at the annual memorial service.
- Pass on the memory of the children and an awareness of democracy and human rights to future generations.
- Fight against neo-fascism and anti-Semitism.
Now, as then, our numbers are few, but our members come from Hamburg, Germany, and around the world: places where the histories of the children and their families have left a lasting impact.
Anyone and everyone is welcome to get involved with us.
